05/04/2010 - Two chances to see Rich Layton & The Troublemakers this weekend... First, on Friday the 7th, we'll be at McMenamins' Bagdad Theater for the 'Cinco de Lebowski' film screening... Music starts outside the theater at 8:30 with the awesome Lord's Own Choir, followed by Rich Layton & The Troublemakers inside starting at 9:30 and running to 10:45... Movie starts screening at 11:00... This is a first-come-first-seated event, so be sure to get there early!!
Then on Saturday May 8th at 9:00 PM, we get to congratulate Nancy Tyson, winner of our "Win A Show With Rich Layton & The Troublemakers" contest this past September. Nancy has chosen to share her gift by hosting a benefit for the Multnomah chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI)... This fundraiser is open to the public, and only a five dollar cover at the rockin Ponderosa Lounge/Jubitz truck stop. This ain’t no stuffed shirt, rubber chicken, snorefest benefit, baby, this is... Trouble At the Truckstop!
04/07/2010 - We’re fixin’ to rock the house Saturday April 17th courtesy of Jim Flynn’s “In The House” SE PDX party palace. This scene is so under the radar that you have to email the host for the address. Be sure to put "Rich Layton & The Troublemakers" in the subject line! It’s hip, laid back, BYOB (snacks to share if you’re so inclined) and take your choice of steamy living room dance floor or cool backyard hang-out.
Dig the civilized hours, too- downbeat around 6:30 and last dance a little after 10, to slide by the noise ordinance. Slip the doorman a ten-spot, and you’re in like Flynn!!
03/17/2010 - Please join us Sunday, March 21st from 2:00 pm 'til 11:00 pm at Pub 181 (18415 SE Division) to help raise money for the family of Vickie (Navarro) Schulmerich. Vickie was one of the 3 women shot and killed in Gresham last month, while out with her friends listening to LIVE MUSIC. Sadly, Vickie was taken away from her husband and 3 children.
There will be an auction, a raffle, and 8 bands performing throughout the day/evening. Suggested donation is $10. I know everbody's schedule is very hectic these days but, if you can, please show up, if just for a few minutes. I know her family would greatly appreciate it. 02/10/2010 - Bring the whole family, kick off your shoes and dance your socks off to the swampified rock and roll of Rich Layton & The Troublemakers, joined by Very Special Guest, Mark Bosnian on keys and accordion. This will be taking place at the Unity of Beaverton Church Hall, Saturday 2/13 at 6:30 PM... $10 buys a night of fun!! Be sure and wear your Mardis Gras beads, too!
